Recent Purchases: Silent Hill 2 and Warhammer 40,000: Firewarrior (PS2)

Posted in In The Mail/Purchased Items on January 31, 2012 by Matt

Back a while ago, I purchased Silent Hill 2 and Firewarrior from E-bay, and about 2 weeks ago, I received them.

Now that I have had time to play both of them, I can safely say that they work perfectly fine.

Silent Hill 2 and Firewarrior

Firewarrior is a game I missed out on completely, and with my recent play-through of Space Marine, I felt that I needed to get this game. It is actually pretty decent, so there’s a chance I may play through it someday soon.

Back in 2001, when Silent Hill 2 came out, I picked it up, but I never finished it. I sold it after a while, and now I finally got it back. With my recent play-through of the first game finished (and the start of my second play-through started), I feel it’s only appropriate to play the second game through.

The Silent Hill HD Collection comes out in March, so I will be picking that up. I forgot just how awesome these games are, and I encourage everything that enjoys scary games to play them through if they haven’t already.

TheBustedCouch Comic Strip: “Cumbersome”

Posted in Comic on January 27, 2012 by Matt

Recently, there was a customer complaint at the store about the prices of our used Playstation 3s. They wanted to contact someone to complain, and we have never had that before. My co-worker referred them to the website, and then came the basis for today’s comic.

Also, in the last couple of days, my girlfriend and I came across a funny website dedicated to Liam Neeson’s cock. Don’t worry, there are no pictures, just dick jokes. It is relevant to the comic. I promise.

TheBustedCouch Comic Strip: Sexual Content

Posted in Comic on January 25, 2012 by Matt

This is part of the retail chronicles line of the strip and is based on real world events.

The other day, a mother comes in with her son, and asked to buy Saints Row The Third. A co-worker of mine warns her of the mature content, and says the stuff under the ESRB label on the back. Overhearing this, I made sure to mention the game’s more note worthy weapon. Click the picture below to view the comic.

TheBustedCouch Comic Strip: Silent Thrill

Posted in Comic on January 20, 2012 by Matt

Way back on the Playstation One, there was a game called Silent Hill. It’s a survival-horror game with a great atmosphere and some challenging puzzles. Recently, I’ve started playing it again since I didn’t get to finish it back in the day when it originally came out.

There is one spot in Silent Hill, where you run into these tiny demon-like monsters that carry knives. They are creepy as shit, but when they grab you, you begin to question their motives. That is the topic of today’s comic strop. Click the picture below to see.

TheBustedCouch Comic Strip: The Retail Chronicles

Posted in Comic on January 18, 2012 by Matt

When working in retail, some people may find that there are occasional customers that will share a lot of personal stuff with you. You don’t ask for this, nor do you really want to hear it, since this is the very first time you’ve met the person. This customer has created the illusion of friendship within seconds of talking to you, and it can be…awkward.

Recently, a situation like this happened to me. See for yourself in today’s comic. Click the picture below to view.

The Retail Chronicles

This isn’t to say you cannot become friends with customers, but situations like the above are just too much.

The Beginning Of Something Great: TheBustedCouch Comic Strip

Posted in Comic, News on January 14, 2012 by Matt

Recently, I started dieting. It’s a low-carbohydrate diet, and it’s really damn annoying. I’ve done one before, and lost a lot of weight, and I’ve gained some back. Time to lose it.

Anyway, this comic reflected a small thought I had the other day. I sort of pity Pac-Man. Poor guy.

13.01.12 - TheBustedCouch - Diets Suck

This is the beginning of a comic strip I plan to do at least once a week. Soon there will also be a fully functional website (thebustedcouch.com), since I purchased the domain name yesterday. This means that, in another month or two, I’ll likely be leaving Neverending Gaming. I’ll save the proper goodbye for when it’s actually time.

Today on Kongregate I Played: Outpost: Haven

Posted in Initial Impressions on January 13, 2012 by Matt

If you’re looking for something to play and don’t have any money, head on over to Kongregate and try out Outpost: Haven. It’s a top down corridor shooter, and you kill giant alien insects in an overrun colony. It’s very awesome.

You’ll collect health, ammo and money pick-ups, and also run into supply consoles that you can buy stuff at (kind of like in Dead Space). It’s straight forward, and you also earn ranks. As you go up in rank, you earn access to new weapons and upgrades. It’s nice to play a game that is so good, and not have to pay for it!
