God Of War: Chains Of Olympus +

Well, the other night on my break at work, I finished God of War for PSP. Well, at least the main single player game. I have only finished the first two challenges under the treasures menu. I’ll quickly give a brief review for those who haven’t tried it.

Graphics: I was very impressed with the graphics in this game. Not much different from those of the other titles on the PS2.

Sound: The strong instrumental music and the sound effects were on key. Everything seemed to fit very nicely with the on screen action.

Story: Kratos, as you would expect, is haunted by his past and relies on the Gods of Olympus to release him of his nightmares. The sun god has been taken from the sky, and now Kratos must restore him or all is lost. His journey takes him beyond this, and he must make some tough decisions. I won’t say anything more, but it’s what you’d expect from a God of War title. It was a satisfying tale.

Controls: The controls worked well enough. There would be times when I’d slip up and do something wrong due to my hands being almost too big for the PSP. That isn’t really the game’s fault. The controls were well laid out.

Difficulty: Well, I played it through on normal, and it wasn’t difficult at all. It did take me a while, but let’s face it, I have a lot of games to divide my attention between. The puzzles are not difficult, and finding all of the Phoenix Feather’s and Gorgon Eyes isn’t hard either. As long as you explore and take your time, there’s not much fuss to be had. I will likely play it through on God difficulty sometime. We’ll see how that turns out. The challenges in the Treasures menu are difficult, but I would assume that to be obvious.

The game was a lot of fun and I enjoyed playing it. I’d suggest it for anyone who owns a PSP.

Other than God of War, I have been playing quite a few other games.

Grid for PS3 is a game I have been playing quite a bit, still, and I am in my 6th or 7th season in career mode right now. I have hired another driver for my team, after firing my first team mate. My first one was doing quite horribly. He needed to go.

Raiden III for PS2 is another game I have been picking up randomly for when I need a quick gaming sit down. It’s serving me well. I love the top-down, shoot ‘em up, style of the Raiden series. It’s totally satisfying.

UFC 2009 Undisputed is out May 19th, but the demo is holding me over. My girlfriend and I played some matches against each other a few nights ago. I wasn’t sure if button mashing would really work in that game, but it can. She proved it. I lost 3/5 matches with her. I am not sure whether to be ashamed or proud.

Guitar Hero 3 and World Tour have been slowing down for me. Meh. I will get back to it when I have a day or two off of work.

Once I finished God of War for PSP, I had to choose another game to move my attention to. Right now, it’s between Patapon, Loco Roco 2, Crisis Core, and Resistance. I’ve been playing Patapon and Loco Roco 2, and haven’t touched the other two yet. I’ll get around to it though. I have 5 more night shifts in a row left.

There you have it. God of War: Chains of Olympus completed (for the most part) and lots of other games flooding in to take a spot. There will never be an end to this. I will be typing up these posts forever.

UFC 2009: Undisputed looks like it could be a very good game. I’ve been waiting for the release for a while now. The demo is really good, although Chuck Liddell seems overpowered… Anyways, I pre-ordered the game and can’t wait to pick it up next week

  2. Yeah, I’ll be pre-ordering UFC 2009, inFamous, Prototype, and Red Faction: Guerrilla tomorrow.
